How the pool installation process works

Getting a pool should be exciting, not stressful. Port Pools By Design follows a clear, efficient installation process from the first visit to your property through to your first swim. The team handles the detail so installing a fibreglass pool is simpler and faster.

1. Site visit

We visit your property to assess the ideal placement for your pool, check access points and talk through your requirements so the design can work on your site.

2. Laser set-out

Precision laser equipment is used to square the pool with your home and surroundings. Once the position is confirmed, the outline is marked on the ground ready for excavation.

3. Ready to excavate

With measurements checked by laser, there is a constant reference point for an accurate install. Excavation can then start with confidence.

4. Excavation complete

The hole is excavated to size and the removed material is taken off-site.

5. Base prepared

The base material is levelled and screeded to the right heights so the shell sits true and the later filling process can run smoothly.

6. Shell delivered

Your fibreglass pool shell is delivered and stored safely on site, ready for the crane to lower it into the prepared hole.

7. Crane on site

The crane arrives and is positioned to lift the shell into place.

8. Lift prepared

The team connects the lifting gear and prepares the shell for the lift.

9. Shell lifted

The swimming pool is lifted and moved into the backyard, ready to be placed in the hole.

10. Shell placed

The pool is lowered into the prepared hole with the team guiding the crane so it sits correctly.

11. Levels checked

Once the shell is in the hole and disconnected from the crane, levels are checked and adjusted so the pool sits true.

12. Pipework and backfill

Pipework, filters and lights are connected, then water backfilling begins.

13. Bond beam

The concrete bond beam and slab are prepared and poured, which sets up the surrounding landscaping.

14. Ready to swim

Coping pavers are installed and the water is balanced. You are then ready to enjoy your new pool.
