Diatomaceous earth filters use a fine powder on a grid to catch very small particles. The water can look exceptionally clear. That is the appeal.
They also need more attention than a cartridge or sand filter. You recharge the media, you handle the powder carefully, and you follow the cleaning cycle. For some households that is a fair trade. For others a cartridge filter on a fibreglass pool is already clear enough and much simpler.
If you have seen DE water and you want that look, talk to us before the equipment pad is poured. The filter needs space and a routine. We will not talk you into it if a simpler system will keep your pool sparkling with less fuss.
